Sensing Place - Student Exhibition 2025
I have just finished reading through your exhibition submissions and I have greatly enjoyed discovering the connections you have made between your environment and what you see, hear, and feel.
Connections
You have created a wonderful network of connections. Between your home environment and other less familiar environments; between your outer landscape and the thoughts and emotions of your inner landscape. You have used materials from the landscape to connect to it, and you have made connections between memories and present undertakings. You have connected ideas from past workshops to this one and have literally connected small works together. And interestingly some of you have written about how you can find new connections through the meditative process of quietly stitching and thinking – an occupation I very much relate to.
The relationship between human outer sensing and the environment has been explored in many forms and the wonderful work you have made is an expression of your exploratory inner seeing.
Thank you for embracing all the concepts, materials and processes that I have shared with you. You have done them full justice in a glorious exhibition.
