Poetry & Place - Student Exhibition 2025

Layered Fragments of Time

Everything has its very own time. Every action, every thought, every feeling and every inspiration belongs to one or more moments. Processes take place in an unfathomable number of moments, they develop and change their shape. Time is not their measure, it is a  gentle, loving companion, it observes and gives unconditional space for everything. And not  only that. When we think, we assume that the ticking of the seconds, minutes and hours is  always synchronised. Nevertheless, there are those strange moments when time seems to fly by, or it seems to drag on, becoming viscous and slow. The latter usually happens when you  think very hard about time. When you forget about time, dynamism and flow arise. A new space opens up. Time frees up the stage for something: for the miracle of artistic development, for example. Every step there is an experience, an enrichment and expansion of intuitive freedom of movement. The more one stops thinking about time and nestles into  the flowing process, feeling and experimenting, the more dancing, free and open time becomes. And I think everyone knows the feeling of looking at the clock after a time forgetting immersion and marvelling at how far it has moved forward and being fulfilled, happy and enriched by it in a special way. By reflecting on it, you can often discover many new things and learn amazing things from your intuitive intelligence.

In ‘Poetry and Place’, this swinging back and forth with time is like a subtitle. On the one hand, the projects invite you to enter the flowing space, but on the other hand, they also invite you to consciously think and deal with steps and techniques.

In the wonderful artistic works created by the students on this course, time seems to have  condensed. Many experienced moments have been layered on top of each other. It is not  only colours, lines and structures that form these layers, but also the challenges that each  individual has experienced while working. The inner conversations are interwoven into something that I would like to call fragments of time.Time does not stand still, and the  artistic process is never finished. It continues to grow within.

This exhibition shows the marvellous stages of those who have set out on this journey.  Pictures that have emerged from the gesture of searching. They show how individually art is at home in each individual and what diversity and beauty the potential of the individual red  thread can reveal.

In the layered fragments of time, this fine thread of the inner, artistic voice unwinds, draws  traces, lets spaces flash up and weaves a fabric from many twists and developments, from the growing moments of the process. It is interspersed with shimmering condensations that can be seen in the works in this exhibition.
